Riding With Confidence!

Five-day transportation and community-safety series covering public transit, pedestrian travel, emergency awareness, and independent community navigation for self-advocates. Note: Ages 14+. Each participant must attend with a natural or professional support person. The event page does not specify mobility, sensory, or visual accommodations; contact the organizer.

Sensory Sundays — B&O Railroad Museum

Select Sundays at the B&O Railroad Museum are dedicated to sensory awareness. Environmental accommodations include no background music, reduced lighting, quiet spaces, and staff trained in sensory needs. Ideal for children with autism, SPD, and other sensory differences.

Sensory Friendly Morning — Maryland State Fair

A special morning at the Maryland State Fair designed for guests with sensory sensitivities. Reduced crowds, lower noise, modified lighting, and sensory-friendly accommodations throughout the fairgrounds. Presented by Walmart.

Summer Therapeutic Recreation Program

Week-long therapeutic recreation program for children ages 5 21 with disabilities. Swimming, arts, sports, and community outings.

YMCA Inclusion Program

Inclusive after-school and weekend programming for children with disabilities. Trained inclusion specialists paired with each child.

Therapeutic Horseback Riding

Equine-assisted therapy for children with physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities. PATH-certified instructors.
